The Mountain of Social Isolation

Reading: Psalm 121 and Psalm 97

Prayer: Lord, you know me inside and out. You know my thought, my feelings, my emotions, my excitement, and also my fears. You know that just the thought of social isolation is a mountain before me: too high to climb; too wide to go around. How will I ever…? Then I remembered that you are the God in whose presence mountains melt like wax and my spirit was eased by your promise never to turn your back on the work of your hands.

Lord, fear and anxiety impair my memory. Therefore, I pray that you will help me to remember at this time of crisis and challenge… to remember that you are a God who dwells with people. To remember your faithfulness. To remember that you are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore, Lord, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46)

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen
